What are reflexes & how do they affect our lives? Perhaps you did not even pay attention, but literally every second we use the reflexes that nature gave us. At the same time, they can be violated, it is impossible not to notice it. Often the violation of reflexes in the negative side provokes long-term use of potent drugs, for example, Xanax or Valium. Among the side effects of these drugs can be identified a few of the most dangerous & the loss of reflexes is one of them. What do you need to know about the reflexes for each of us?
All reflexes were divided into two groups:
These are the inborn reactions of the organism to vital stimuli (food, danger, etc.).
They do not require any conditions for their development (for example, the saliva at the sight of food). Unconditioned reflexes are a natural reserve of ready-made, stereotyped reactions of the organism. They arose as a result of the long evolutionary development of this species of animals. Unconditioned reflexes are the same for all individuals of the same species. They are carried out with the help of the spinal & lower parts of the brain. Complexes of unconditioned reflexes manifest themselves in the form of instincts.
But the behavior of higher animals & man is characterized not only by congenital, i.e., unconditional reactions, but also by reactions that are acquired by the given organism in the process of individual vital activity, that is, conditioned reflexes. The biological meaning of the conditioned reflex is that the numerous external stimuli surrounding the animal under natural conditions & in themselves not of vital importance, preceding in the experience of animal food or danger, the satisfaction of other biological needs, begin to act as signals by which the animal orientates its behavior.
So, the mechanism of hereditary adaptation is an unconditioned reflex & the mechanism of an individual variable adaptation is a conditioned reflex produced by a combination of vital phenomena with accompanying signals.
A conditioned reflex is produced on the basis of any of the unconditioned reactions. Reflexes to unusual signals that do not occur in a natural setting are called artificial conditional ones. In the laboratory, many conditioned reflexes can be developed for any artificial stimuli.
The concept of conditioned reflex is associated with the principle of signaling of higher nervous activity, the principle of synthesis of external influences & internal states.
The discovery of the main mechanism of higher nervous activity, the conditioned reflex, became one of the revolutionary achievements of natural science, a historically turning point in the understanding of the connection between the physiological & the mental.
With the knowledge of the dynamics of education & the changes in conditioned reflexes, the discovery of complex mechanisms of the activity of the human brain began the discovery of the laws of higher nervous activity.
Always watch how your body functions. It is very important to know that the basic moments work, as they should. Of course, this does not mean that you need to give up all possible drugs, but doctors strongly recommend taking the medicine with caution.
